Last night I received the very sad news about the untimely deaths of Kate McClelland and Kathy Krasniewicz in a hit-and-run automobile accident on their way to the Denver airport from ALA.
Both librarians at the Perrot Memorial Library in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, Kate was also vice-president/president-elect of the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), and Kathy was Notable Children’s Videos Chair.
This is a terrible loss for everyone, and my thoughts are with their families and loved ones today. Their love of books, reading, and storytelling are already being vitally missed.
