Hey! I’m back from my Princess Diaries Graphic Novel Tour and came here to say THANKS SO MUCH to everyone who turned out for my events in July (and June)! I had the best time hanging out with so many booksellers, librarians, and readers, and:
Signing so many books!

Getting home-made crowns and scepters from so many aspiring little princes and princesses:

Getting to observe their creative spellings of the word Genovia:

Finding out from readers that Princess Mia Thermopolis and Queen Clarisse dolls exist, thanks to Funko Pop!

Visiting The Ripped Bodice in Brooklyn for the first time!

And finally, hanging out with the gang at CBS Mornings!

I had such a good time, and got to meet (or become re-acquainted with) such amazing readers, that I’ve decided to add MORE EVENTS in August and September! (Also because I actually have books coming out in August and September…and DECEMBER, as well!)

That’s right! In addition to the brilliantly illustrated (by Bethany Crandall, no less) graphic novel of The Princess Diaries, which came out last month, my adult paranormal romance THE MAGIC WE MADE (Witches of West Harbor #2) will be out on August 11 (and has already been added as a LibraryReads pick, for which I made this thank you video)!

Then the first book in the middle grade graphic novel DETECTIVE BABY series (DANCE TEAM DRAMA. illustrated by Amelia Allore) comes out September 1!

And finally, to round out 2026, my first YA romance in more than 10 years (and the first book in the Winn Riley series) KISSING COWBOYS, comes out December 8 (moved up from 12/22 by so much demand)!

And I’m not even mentioning the re-issue of When Lightning Strikes with a brand new cover/title on September 15 (because it’s not new, though it has an all new cover–and sprayed edges!–and is slightly revised for outdated language…though not that Rob/Jess content)!

Whew! I know you’re asking: “Wow, Meg, didn’t you have ZERO new books come out in 2025, and now you have FOUR coming out in 2026? What’s going on with you?”
Answer: I didn’t write these all at once! I’ve been working on and off on some of them for YEARS…and of course for the graphic novels, it can take time for ACTUAL artists (who are not using AI) to draw such brilliantly warm, engaging, and relatable images!
I could not be more excited to have been invited to so many events this past summer. I’m equally excited to announce the dates/places of my Fall 2026 tour! Please come see me on my Magic We Made/Detective Baby Tour (exact locations/time of some of these events are tbd) so we bond more over books, reading, writing, and of course Funko Pop.

And if you can’t make it to any of the events listed above this Fall, don’t worry: there will be many, many more!
Book events are no fun unless people actually SHOW UP, so thanks again to everyone who is SHOWING UP TO SUPPORT BOOKS (AND AUTHORS)! I understand that there are more pressing or important things going on out there, but that only means I appreciate the reading community even more for making books a priority!

Genovian pear bouquet from Storybook Bouquets!
What I love most about readers is that we have such a great and supportive community. Time and time again over these past few weeks, I’ve witnessed so many people being so kind and giving with one another (and with me, as well), and it’s been so heart-warming! It honestly restored my faith in humanity.

But since studies show that reading fiction increases compassion and empathy, I know I shouldn’t be surprised. I just wanted you to know that I noticed….
…and I can’t wait to see more of you soon!
More later.
Much love,
Meg
